Traveling out of the country? Don't go unprepared! Most health insurance plans provide domestic coverage only and will not cover expenses incurred in foreign countries. For a minimal cost, you can get coverage for one week, several weeks, or annually if you are expecting to take five or more trips throughout the year.

Below are two dental products that I recommend. Both plans give you the option of adding Vision in combination with the dental plan or adding Vision as a stand-alone plan.

National Care Dental

• This company offers a high benefit option of up to $5,000 and has no waiting period for types one and two services.

• Instead of a deductible, they have a $25 Copay per visit.

Ameritas/Security Life Dental!

• This company offers reasonably sized benefits, up to $2,000.

• There is no waiting period for type one services. Types two and three services also do not have a waiting period, but the benefits are reduced for the first calendar year.

• This company offers orthodontic coverage at an additional cost.

Both plans use different provider networks, so I would recommend checking the provider finder on both to see if your dentist is in network. If your dentist doesn’t accept insurance, both plans can still be used out of network.

To find out if your provider (doctor, hospital, clinic) is covered under a particular insurance company, visit their websites below. You will need to know the name of the provider network covered under your plan to proceed.

NOTE: Every insurer states on their search page that information CHANGES DAILY, and that a provider covered (or not covered) today could change status next week. It is always a best practice to contact the provider and confirm that they accept your insurance.
